GO KARTING

Go Karting

This entry has nothing to do with our wedding (Mr Ang and I were discussing about the wedding during the outing though... hahaha).... but i m in the mood to blog yet too lazy and also dun know how to set up a separate blog for myself so i decided to just blog here too....

anyway, we took part in whampo cc go karting event in malaysia today...

woke up early in the morning to meet the rest at the custom.... drove to some famous place to have yong tau fu for breakfast

cheery cheery us early in the morning

squashed in the mini van towards the go-kart track

abit lok-kok looking but who cares....can run safely can liao... =)

it was so so so fun.... somemore get to go 2 times leh.... 2 x (5 - 8) laps is just so fun.... vroom vroom vroom... but too bad, only managed to get 1 photo of me behind the wheels...

and none for Mr Ang cos our photographer, Mr Kelvin Su, said he was too fast.... hahahaha....

wish card

Wish Cards

instead of the normal style of guest book, i decided (and Mr Ang agreed... as usual...) that i can have wish cards instead... cos i like the 'hanging' style of this idea which i've gotten from the net....

(can be part of our house decor in future too)... =)

And since i like diy, and since it's a 'candy colour' theme wedding party, i m going to print this big big diamond ring below onto many different coloured art paper....

Updates from 12 July 2010:

My sample colourful wish cards have been printed... =) now in the mist of mixing and confirming the colours before i do my mass printing of 100 copies...

any volunteers wanna help in cutting these diamonds for me??? =P

i m going to put all these blank wish cards + a box of shiny pen + some stickers into the boxes shown below to be pass around the tables before and during dinner... so look out for these boxes ah...

*very sweet and vintage like boxes hor??? got them from Diaso...i think is a super worth it buy lo.... *

anyway, the job of you (invited guests) is to fill in the front of the wish card with your name and your relationship with me or Mr Ang;

example - riverside friend of the bride (cross out 'groom') or
- poly friend of the groom (cross out 'bride')

understand??? get it??? ...if not, nevermind.... the newly appointed MRS ANG will explain and demonstrate to you on the day itself... hahaha....

and on the back of the card, kindly write your wishes for us and give us some pointers/ideas/suggestions on how we (Mr Ang and me) can keep our marriage sweet, lasting, loving and with lots of sparks..... please be creative k???? hahaha.....

Lastly, you can decorate the wish cards with some drawings, cartooning or the stickers provided oh.... if u wanna bring ur own stickers, u r most welcome to do so too.... hahaha....

but why put in boxes to be pass around leh??? cos i lazy to deco a table area for friends & relatives to line up to write their wishes lo... and if people need to line up, there's a limit to how much one can write also lo (i would appreciate if your write more and be more creative oh).... and lastly, i doubt there's any space in the venue to set up a 'wish card' table and have space for people to queue up la.... hahaha

handsome and macho sponsors

Handsome and Macho Sponsors

Sponsor 2 - Mr Lee Choon Long

Mr Ang's polymate... and according to Mr Ang, they were 'bio-ing' kakis..... used to bio girls together in the SP canteen and library one.... hahaha....

a very very nice guy who agreed to help us take our pre wedding shoots without any hesitation and even help us to carry our water bottle, provide tissue during the photoshoot itself... another 兄弟 that went all out... and he was practically doing push ups on the grass patch, his entire weight only supported by his lower arms while he tried to take those photos which Mr Ang and I were sitting on the grass patch.... there were at least 10 of such photos lo....

i salute his professionalism .... kudos kudos.....

Sponsor 1 - Mr Ang Kok Yong

Has know Mr Ang all his life. An elder brother who 两肋插刀,出钱又出力.

Sponsored Mr Ang's wedding suit and was the transport director who ferry us all over singapore n(Clarke Quay and Fort Canning from and to woodlands) for our pre-wedding shoot. And most importantly, is Mr Ang's most reliable advisor all these years... =)

will be applying for the ocbc credit card so that we can get to enjoy the promotion package for the wedding dinner to be held at Peony Jade... =)

wedding theme

Wedding theme
- bright candy colours -
ignore the flower bouquets in the photo..... the wedding theme has been set to be "bright candy colours" ..... so no black, no white, no brown, no grey and no other dull colours unless they are match with some other "bright candy colours" accessories or clothing k???

save the date, 18th December 2010, to attend Mr Ang's and my "candy colour" wedding party wor???

our pre-wedding photoshoot

our pre-wedding photoshoot day
20 June 2010

as our photoshoot was in the afternoon, i went for mac breakfast and did some last minute shopping with lewei while Mr Ang had tuition with angela in the morning...

i reached home at around 11+. Mr Ang told me that he had just finished a whole plate of mee hoon which had gone bad... he said he thought the 酸 smell was meant to be... DIAO!!! gave me a fright lo.... how to take photos if the model is to be running to the toilet oh so often??? luckily, he took some medication and was fine the whole day.... and the photshoot proceeded as planned...

i quickly took a shower and immediately lewei (姐妹 3)started to work on my make up and hair....

the photo here did injustice to the make up that lewei did for me lo.... but i think i seriously need to do something to my eyebags.... =(

Kok Yong (兄弟 1) came to pick us up at around 130pm, so we hurried down with our barang barang, Mr Ang rushed to buy some bread as he had not has his lunch, Angela (姐妹 2) called and said that our bouquet was still in the fridge, Mr Ang ran up to collect it, picked Choon Long (兄弟 2), the photographer, at marsiling mrt and then we all make our way to fort canning...

the sky seemed a little dark... and we were alittle worried...cos there's no wet weather plan... but luckily the dark clouds heard our prayers and didnt follow us to our photoshooting venues.... hahaha...

maybe i wasnt used to the thick layer of makeup on my face or i was just too excited.... i kept perspiring... i had to constantly fan myself or dab away the sweat droplets on my forehead and under my eyes.... =(

i m only gonna upload a few photos for your viewing pleasure... http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=651010697#!/photo.php?pid=4514382&id=651010697 for the rest of the photos....

i think Choon Long really really has very good photography skill.... can make 2 jokers like us look so pretty and handsome....hahaha.... Mr Ang and I were always laughing and laughing throughout the whole session yet he can still manage to take alot of decent shoots.... 2 thumbs up!!!

i think i shortened the distance travelled by at least a quarter cos i really cannot take it liao... my feet were hurting due to the shoes, my tummy was grumbling due to hunger, and i was just dying from the heat so we decided to 提早下班,吃饭去... Yippy!!!... Manhattan flaming prawns.... here we come... =)

i really kudos those couples who can spend long hours taking their wedding photoshoots, from one venue to another, from morning till night...clap clap clap clap... Mr Ang and I only took 3.5 hours and 2 venues and i was already dying...

did i mentioned that Mr Ang blushed while we were taking the photoshoot at clarke quay??? He was so shy just because there were people around us ... hahaha.... silly ah boy.....

gifts 4 姐妹 & 兄弟

Gifts for sponsors & us

To thank all these kind and lovely sponsors for their contributions, i bought (Mr Ang paid) some small gifts for all of them.

For the pretty and sweet sponsors, you will be receiving this shiny bear bear handphone accessories with the thank you card i made... can see the 'I luv U' on each of the bear??? cute hor???

As for the handsome and macho sponsors, i bought this chinese groom's costume keychain instead cos i dun think you would like the kind of cute cute style of gifts which i've gotten for the pretty and sweet sponsors...

how can only buy presents for all of u then never buy anything for me and Mr Ang right??? haha... so i got these for the both of us....

key chains for the keys to our new house....

and Mr Ang always says that he will still hold my hands even when he becomes old 爷爷 Ang and I become old 奶奶 Ang... so i totally melted when i saw this pair of grandma grandpa handphone accessories that glow in the dark.... just can't resist myself from buying them...

if u look carefully, old 奶奶Ang seems slightly fatter (bigger) than old 爷爷 Ang leh...so it really protrays the real life us; me being round and 肉肉, while he being fit and lean... and the spectacles has some resemblances to Mr Ang's one too..... hahaha.....

Ready for photo shoot not...

Ready for photo shoot???

Photoshoot is in 2 days time (20 June 2010)

Let us see if everything is really ready....

1) photographer - Mr Lee Choon Long (handsome and macho 2) - Mr Ang's Poly mate
He was very nice and agreed to help us with our small scale photoshoot without any hesitation.

2) transport director - Mr Ang Kok Yong (handsome and macho 1) - Mr Ang's elder brother
He really 出钱又出力, pick us up, ferry us around, bought a Seiko watch for him as a wedding gift on 28 may 2010... and he loves it to bits... but as it's a wedding gift, he can only wear it for the photoshoot and from the actual wedding day itself oh... hahaha...

I will be wearing the beaded accessories (necklace + earrings + bracelet) which Xin Ying lent me... they are so pretty and they match my white wedding dress so well.... =) ...

and of cos we will be having our wedding bands on... the one which he bought in dec 2009 from goldheart....

feel like renting a tiara cos my hair is kinda short and i don't think i can get it style in any 'woah' yet not 'scary' design leh... chance upon http://www.justgowns.biz/visit.html that rents out tiara at only $8.50 and located very near to XinYing's place which i will be going for my second nail art session on sat.... but too bad.... their appointment full....luckily lewei (姐妹 3) came to my rescue. she bought me a mini tiara and even style my hair and did my make-up for the photoshoot... =)

did my own flower bouquet too.... cos i just find it ridiculously expensive to buy one lo... i think i did a pretty good job as a first timer... think too little flowers this time.. will get 12 - 18 daisy for the actual day instead.... hee... love the chain that i bought from shanghai that i used to wrap around the flower stems.... =) ...got the words 'i love you' oh....

finally bought my pair of white shoes today after hunting for it for many many days... so expensive lo.... $35.90....

3) venue
decided on 2 places;
- clarke quay (the place where we went on our first date) and
- fort canning (the place where we went on our first couple date - ballet under the stars 2010)

4) groom's suit
bought it on 16 june 2010...sponsored by Mr Ang Kok Yong (兄弟 1) - Mr Ang's elder brother
grey suit from People of Asia (POA) @ Plaza Singapura - $232.90

love this suit cos of the colour....something different from the usual black or white... =)

5) bride's dress
bought it on 28 may 2010... sponsored by Miss Charlene Goh (姐妹) - Miss Candy's BFF
white tube dress from Arthur Yen @ Metro Causeway Point - $143.20

will be matching the dress with a gold sash from Joyce to try to create a waist for myself... as according to Mab... i look as if i m pregnant... =( ...but i like it like that leh... flowy flowy one.... and i dun have a waist to begin with lo...that's why i always like this kind of straight dresses mah.... hahaha....

All of you must be thinking why we choose to buy our gown and suit from shopping centres' boutique and not bridal boutique right??? hee... cos Mr Ang and I are both lazy ppl who dosen want to spend any time & energy on negotiating with the people at the bridal boutique... we like the feeling of trying our gown / suit and paying for them if they fit well... dun wanna to go through the hassle of going through designs after designs, fitting and alterating, negotiating of package price and worse to find out that that we have been ripped by those dishonest business ppl in the end.... =(

our wedding dinner place - Peony Jade

Our Wedding Dinner Place

I wanted an outdoor wedding....beach theme also can, garden theme also can.... as long as it's outdoor.... surf surf surf and got the following....

a) beach culture - the sand view / sea view just dosen appeal to me.... singapore beach is just so cmi.... =(

b) mandai orchid garden - was originally my favourite choice...love the outdoor ROM hut and the mini potted plant which they give out as wedding flavours but as i found out more about the place, i realised that there are just too much diy deco needed to doll up the place le.... cos everything is plain white in the resaurant... =(

c) bird park / zoo / botanical garden / bottle tree - yes, it's outdoor, but just not my cup of wedding place....

d) garden theme room @ mandarin oriental / the lawn or palm room @ raffles hotel - so ex!

din take very long for me to decide on Peony jade @ Keppel club.... =) due to the following reasons

1) outdoor Solemnisation Ceremony by the Sea

the decoration of the hut is included in the package... =) ... love the view on this side of the place.... although now the trees shown in the picture have grown so much taller and are blocking part / most of the sea view liao.... but still pretty and nice....i likey very very much....

warning though, the other side of the beach is a swimming pool... abit =( ....so ppl, dun need to take too many photos of the Justice of Peace as his backdrop will be super anti... hahahaha.... so just focus ur cameras on me and Mr Ang can liao.... must remember to take only PRETTY shots wor....

2) We can choose to hold the dinner in the Peony Room which is an exclusive private area for us and our guests.... =)

but as the place is kind of tiny, we can only have max 8 tables...... =(...would love to have another 1-2 tables for all my pals though.... as i am only allocated 2.75 tables for my friends, i have to do selection process on who i can invite....so dear dear dear friends , please please please dun scold me if i left u out of my wedding k? thinking in a positive manner, i m helping u save ang bao money wor.... oopx.... but no worries... i will definitely invite all of you to my house warming de.... =) ...so save up k??? i will need alot more sponsorships then.... =P

3) as we are taking the Peony room, we have to book the most expensive dinner package offered... it's called 'EVERLASTING LOVE'.... the best thing is.... it's still within his budget.... double, triple happiness for a poor couple like us and especially so, since he is the sole $$$$$ contributor.... wahahaha... i just dun see the point of spending any money to get myself married off... =P ... so dear dear.... 辛苦你了哦!! muacks muacks muacks....

4) and i went forum to check out the review of the place and food...alot of thumbs up oh....the food is said to be YUMMILIOUS!!!.... i remembered Xin Ying's wedding was held at the Clarke Quay branch and food was really good too.... and oh, i found out that Ting Yang is also hold his wedding dinner at the Clarke Quey branch next year too.... so it seems that this restaurant is quite popular oh.... =)

5) the deco of the Peony Room was not as red as what i had expected....i remembered Xin Ying's wedding deco was very red red de which i like....though it was more appropriate for a wedding reception.... but the one at Keppel Club is more of ivory + gold.... although got a few red lantens la....

abit plain hor??? not my stle hor??? hmmm....so now have to think of ways to deco the venue abit here and there bah.... but on the whole, i will give it a 9/10.... that's y i choose it mah.... hahaha....

This is May, the wedding coordinator whom we discussed the package with... very bubbly...very friendly... hope she can throw in more freebie for us along the way.... =)

The happy and excited us after confirming the package on 22 May 2010.... it's like, we are really gonna get married liao....

(see the scar on his forehead??? evidence of his love affair with his plane...he got KISSED by the horstab of F16 and needed 2 stitches....ouch!!!)... warn u to stay faithful to me liao lo... hahaha....

mini cartoonised us....

Cartoonised Us

surf surf surf once more and it led me to animated montage for weddings...so cute to see ppl in cartoon form... sent an email to 2 companies to request for a price list and was shocked to find out that it cost $800 - $1200 for just a 5 minutes plus cartoon video montage... SIAOZ!!!!

so surf surf and surf surf once more and found this cute website ( http://www.weeworld.com/default.aspx ) that allows me to create a mini cartoonised me and him....

this is how he looked like when we first met ...

and this is how i looked like when we first met

cute right???

in order to save cost and to be more involved in our montage creation, i m going to use my limited IT skill of prt sc + paint + photoshop + powerpoint to create my wedding montage... hahaha.... can foresee myself spending lots & lots of time on this massive project....

updates on 15 June 2010:

His younger brother, Dominic, will be doing the montage...yippy!!!... more updates on 兄弟s will be in the later post as the groom-to-be is still slow mo-ing around to see who can help and in which area.... hahaha....

P.S. Thanks Dominic, really really appreciate your help in the montage.... =)
