Day 1 of Penang - Old Green House, China House & our apartment

We celebrated 18 years of friendship with a weekend trip to Penang... =D

flight tics was super ex at S$194 each just because it was the weekend before National Day... but the awesome company made it all worth it.... =*

as it was a normal working day for me, the gals had to accommodate to my timing to take the 5.35pm flight.... we reached Penang at about 7pm, passed through custom 45 minutes later and finally managed to have our dinner way passed 8pm....

dinner place was at Old Green House Restoran upon the recommendation of our driver...

driver had strongly recommended the curry mee  but in our haste in food ordering from all the stores in sight, we left curry mee out as the store was 'tucked' behind this prawn noodle store... =S

prawn noodle which came with 虾米?!?!?!?!?!

a huge plate of cuttlefish with kangkong @ $15rm (S$3)

Bah Kut Teh for 3 pax @ $39rm (S$13) ... luv the cabbage with pork floss....

very yummy crispy fried oyster at $8rm (S$2.70)

happy trio after a hearty meal....

 不要小看我们的食量哦!!!... =D

as the night was still young.... we headed over to China House to have a mini celebration for Liza's hatchday...

our 1st choice was @ Canteen where the live band was... but the only seats left were those right in front of the speaker and next to a group of smokers.... thanks but no thanks... =S

so we switched over to the bakery instead....

wishing you happiness and strength in life and in all the 'crazy' exercises that you do....

it was doodling on mahjong paper art competition when i visited in March earlier this year and now it was doodling on paper cup..... interesting idea... i like!!!

a pop-up store out of no-where

... daring concept... but their items were not interesting enough to encourage sale leh...

indeed i am.... so much so that this was my second visit in 2016... =D

Liza had booked the apartment via airbnb and i would say she did a fantastic job.... our apartment was on the 8th floor in the building in this pic below and cost S$105 per night for up to 6 (skinny) people...

just above a drive-thru Starbucks with a sexy mermaid logo?!?!?!?

one bedroom on the ground floor

super tall ceiling which made the apartment look very spacious and airy....  i like

and another bedroom on the second floor where all 3 of us slept together

pool view and sea view from our apartment
